vivien cooper
Vivien Cooper is, first and foremost, a poet and song lyricist. She has co-written songs with singer-songwriters Janni Littlepage (on her Strange Angels CD), Jim Waddell (on their Smoke Through My Fingers CD), Johan Seige, and others. Her spoken-word poetry is featured on Harvey Kubernik’s DisClosure: Voices of Women. She is the author of George Clayton Johnson: Fictioneer (publisher Bear Manor Media 2013), a biography about the life of the Academy Award nominated sci-fi-and-fantasy writer responsible for writing many iconic Twilight Zone episodes, and co-writing the story for Logan’s Run and the story upon which the Ocean’s 11 film franchise is based.
George became a dear friend and mentor to Cooper over the years. After meeting Rod Serling on set at Universal Studios—a miracle arranged by her special-effects tech dad, Larry Needham—Vivien felt it was fate that she write about the life of George, a dear friend and colleague of Serling. It was life coming full circle.
Since 1999, Cooper has kept the wolf from the door by working as a freelance biographer-ghostwriter, and in that capacity has written and edited over thirty published books. Along the way, she has been blessed to give voice to survivors of trauma, tragedy, loss, traumatic brain injury, and the Holocaust, as well as some notable people in the world of film, T.V., and music.
